So let’s talk about the keys to planning and maintaining a membership and to get started talking about that. Let’s just define what a membership is.
And we’re going to do this version from the buyer perspective. Typically, when you talk about a membership, traditionally understood the buyer is making a recurring payment of some kind. And typically we’re talking about a monthly payment.
That’s the common form of a membership. In some cases, the buyer might pay annually and that’s probably a higher ticket product. But if you think about it, whatever, you’re delivering to people on a monthly basis, you can actually give other people the opportunity to pay annually because that’s the way some people prefer to pay for things. And in some cases you may even want to go and say,
I’m going to give you a one-time payment and maybe it’s going to be slightly more than annual. And if you’re willing to take that payment and you’re willing to take that payment in advance, we’ll talk about that a little bit here in the session. But if you’re willing to take a payment upfront for work that you’ve yet to do, then that’s a way of being able to have a membership.
